Don’t be a Distracted Driver

Are you a distracted driver? Chances are, yes. What constitutes as driving distractedly? Distractions can include changing the radio, using a navigation system, and even talking to the passengers.  Travelers have some great information about the dangers of being a distracted driver. If you didn’t know already, April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. One of the major distractions today is cell phones: texting, calling, or playing games while driving. Texting while driving is just as dangerous, if not more, than drunk driving. By taking drivers’ eyes off the road, they can increase their chance of an accident by 23 percent. Texting and driving is more dangerous because it combines the three main types of distractions are visual, manual, and cognitive. Accidents can happen quickly, don’t become a statistic.
